The Graduate... again

Tonight was bittersweet... Tess graduated - for the second and final time - from her parent/child swim class. You may recall that she graduated for the first time back in September. Yeah, that was pretty much a bust. A disaster, really. But now, since she is such a BIG girl (as evidenced by her now being fully potty trained - hurray! - and because she is almost three!) she is REALLY starting her 'big girl' lessons next week.

Tonight she was strutting her stuff. She was kicking and blowing bubbles and even swam by herself for a bit (see the video below). The other kids* are going to be glad to see her go so she can stop hogging the pool spotlight already.

*Ok, let's be upfront and honest here... Tess was the oldest child in a classful of BABIES this session. Tess would tell you that she ate 'em up and spit 'em out when it came to having mad swimming skillz, but truly, she looked like an Amazon womanfish next to them. See Exhibit A. I'm sure they were all celebrating in the parking lot tonight after class knowing that Tess is now age-barred from ever returning to their class and will no longer be there to splash them silly and swim over top of them - and their mothers. Peace out, ya big babies.

Exhibit A:

Tess and Dad getting ready to dominate the class

"Can you believe these other kids, Dad?!"

"I'm the bomb!"
"I'm ready to accept my award now... please pay attention to me."

The coveted last-class-of-the-session sucker. Way better than the certificate.
