Happy Halloween!

Seven months old today!

People always ask, "So what's Tess doing now?" Well, to sum it up, she's starting to crawl (see video below), growing lots more hair, loving her swimming lessons, learning to eat better, laughing lots, still sleeping like a champ, talking more and more all the time and seeming like she's ready to bust out a tooth any day - but none so far!


And here is a little peek into why it's becoming increasingly difficult to conduct these monthly photo shoots!

The BFFs go to see the Pistons

Tess and her BFF, Kadie, caught a Pistons game a few weeks ago. (Mom has been a little slow to update the Blog...) They enjoyed themselves, although it's questionable how much of the game was actually viewed by our party. By looking at the picture of the BFFs watching the game, it's probably fair to say that they saw more of it than we did. Instead of watching it ourselves, we were taking pictures of them watching it. :)

Zoo Boo!

Tess and her buddies, Matthew and Grayson, got all dolled up in their Halloween costumes and hit the Zoo Boo at the Detroit Zoo. It was definitely the place to be and they were stylin'. Although it was pretty inconvenient that it was like 80 degrees outside and they were all bundled up in their furry costumes. Tess' bunny costume is fleece lined, so she was sweating to death (you can't see that it is completely unbuttoned in the back so she could breathe!!). It didn't seem to upset her, although it was kind of hard to tell if anything would have upset her as we were trying to figure out if she was even breathing... talk about catatonic bunny. She was frozen like a stuffed bunny. I looked up the definition of catatonic and got this: "Catatonic patients will sometimes hold rigid poses for hours and will ignore any external stimuli." Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

The Evolution of Tess continues...

So let's review... we've gone from laying down to rolling to kneeling... and now standing??? We're not quite there yet, but she's thinking about it! Actually, she looks more like she's trying to master the push-up or preparing to line up at the starting line of a race. I think sprinting comes next.

This is a great video of Tess having fun in the bath. You can really hear (and see) her laugh. She still gives herself the hiccups each time she has a good laugh. Enjoy!

To crawl or not to crawl?

Tess is starting to get up on all fours and rock. This just began late last week. The stomach came off the ground and she looks like she's ready to go - just hasn't figured out how to go forward yet. She has mastered the art of going backwards, though. It won't be long!
