Dance Recital!
BOTH girls had their dance recital today. And BOTH girls had their dad dance with them in the Daddy Daughter Dance, which was a tap theme this year. Wow, what lucky girls to have such a brave and nice (or perhaps mentally ill?!) Dad.

Happy Father's Day and Go Tigers
Happy belated Father's Day to the best dad in the whole world. We love you, Daddy!
Last night, we went to a Tiger game. Great night for a game!
Look who agreed to get within 35 feet of Paws! (with a buffer, of course)

Daddy Daughter Dance
On Friday night, Tess and Damon went to the Daddy Daughter Dance at Shrine. I got to go too since I was signed up to volunteer. Not sure if that was a good thing or not since clearly, Dads are much more oblivious to silly acting little girls on the verge of giving each other concussions making it necessary for a Mom to step in. They all kind of looked at me like, "who invited you anyway?"
Tess had fun. Damon got her a little corsage which was fine and dandy until Tess realized she was supposed to wear it for the whole night. Um, we should have just shackled a big ball and chain to her wrist instead. Corsage = instant funk. Needless to say, Damon carried it for most of the evening.
This sort of sums up the interaction between Dads and girls at the dance

Happy Birthday Daddy!
So it's been pointed out to me that we I have been slacking on the blog. My apologies. We are back. We're going to start with Dad's birthday since it is today, and we'll do our best to fill in what we've missed.
In the meantime, Happy Birthday to Daddy! We had a fun night going out to dinner.

Mackinac Island 2012
Keeping with past tradition, we celebrated Uncle Michael's birthday on Mackinac Island again this year. We had a great time, as usual! We mixed it up a bit this year and went a different weekend, so we missed the Lilac Festival Race, but instead caught the Lilac Festival Parade. We also visited the Butterfly House this time, which the girls loved.

Boat time
Today we dusted off the old boat and got 'er back on the water for a fun afternoon. Boy, what a difference a year makes when it comes to Nora and the boat. Last year, I have fond memories of her biting my shoulder when it was time for her to put on her life jacket. Today, she was a champ. Hooray for progress.
