Tess goes to Wisconsin

We made the trip to Wisconsin for Memorial Day weekend to go to a family wedding and hang out with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Mark. It was Tess' very first trip to the booming metropolis of Wilton, WI - population 519. She got out of the car and smelled cows for the very first time! What a bummer that we couldn't bottle it up and put it in the baby book. Ha.

Here is a cute (but short) video from the wedding... Tess was dancing and then had the idea that she was going to destroy her cute hairdo, nearly giving me a heart attack and thus, abruptly ending the video so I could save her hair from complete disaster. I can't remember if I was successful or not.

Belated birthday pictures

Tess finally got her 'professional' birthday pics back from Mom's friend, Bridget. Bridget is our favorite photog for all of our most important events. What a good friend to have! Anyway, here are some select pics from Tess' big party!

The debut of the pigtails

Tess finally has enough hair for us to have some fun! It remains to be seen how long Tess will stand for it, but until then, as long as Elmo is on TV, I have free reign! So cute!

Finally! An update!!

Tess woke up this morning and said, "Mom, enough is enough! Get in there and update my blog so all my peeps know what's going on with me! What are you waiting for?!" Tess is right. I need to get on the ball. So here goes...

Since Tess has turned one, she has been VERY busy. Her social calendar is booming. We will try to give you a brief rundown of each of her public appearances and happenings. This may be the longest post in the history of the Tess blog:

1. Tess had her first birthday parties. One at Joe Kool's restaurant the week before her birthday and one at home on her birthday. It was a fun time and she had LOTS of attendees. We are still waiting on some pictures from the party photog, so we'll post more when we get them.

2. Tess celebrated Easter. Grandma and Grandpa Tillman and Uncle Mark came to town to visit Tess and go to her party, so Tess was happy to see them again.

3. Tess went to North Carolina so Dad could buy a new (to him) car. We flew there and drove back. On the way back, we stopped in and saw Grandma and Grandpa Tillman for a short visit.

Tess is now learning to get into the pool herself

4. Tess has been having fun going to the park by our house (not by herself, of course) and swinging on the baby swings. This isn't really an event or happening, but the pictures are cute and Tess wanted to share.

5. Tess has FIVE teeth now... the two uppers and three on the bottom! We just noticed the third tooth on the bottom Saturday. It certainly explains the runny nose that she has been having this last week! Her favorite word is "uh-oh!" (if that's even a word) and she is getting good at slapping high-5 (versus just sticking her hand up). She also loves playing outside and gets very angry when it is time to come in!

6. One last thing... Tess is driving now:

Just kidding. Dad just likes this picture. Ha.

Whew! That was quite an update. We won't wait so long next time because that was too much work! See ya next time!
