Sometimes I wish she wasn't so timid.

Wave pool!
Today we made an impromptu trip to the wave pool. This was a first for Damon and the girls... I think my last trip to the wave pool was on the Y bus way back in the day. The wave pool has kicked it up a few notches since then. They now have a whole splash area that's pretty elaborate (except I don't think I took a picture of it!) and a lazy river. It was a great way to beat the heat and wear out two little girls!

The BFFs go camping!
FINALLY, our BFF camping weekend arrived! I thought it would never arrive given that we told Tess about it far too early so Tess has been asking about it for weeks.
We figured out that this was our fourth camping trip with Scott and Leanne and it was the second official BFF trip. We also determined that this is our last trip minus The Littles (aka Nora and Charlie), so next year, it will be an entirely new adventure!
This year we went to the Traverse City State Park. Two thumbs up.
"Me and Daddy working together on the tent"

Tess helped me with some of the captions of the pictures since she was practically standing on my head while I was going through all of them...
"Me and Daddy working together on the tent"
"Me and Daddy talking"
"Me and Daddy trying to put those in"
Only girls are allowed to put up the princess tent (and those are my words, not Tess'). And yes, there was a scary log cabin on the other side of the fence. Random. And a little bit eerie.

Finally, our buddies arrived! And they even brought gifts, including matching BFF outfits!
And a sweet little charm for me. I love it.
Perhaps my favorite picture of the weekend (taken with my phone, of course).
S'more time. With the biggest marshmallows ever.
Decorating matching BFF flip-flops
Pancakes! This picture reminds me of my favorite quote of the weekend... after waking up we could smell bacon from a nearby campsite. I said, "Mmmmm.... I smell bacon!," to which Kadie replied, "I love cats."
Tess caption: "He was the noodle monster!"
A not-so-welcomed guest.
"Scott picked up that fish and the two moms said, 'Throw it in the garbage!' and Scott said, 'Where's the garbage?!'"
"Fishes are yucky. Gross."
Someone was in desperate need of a nap. Thankfully, she finally gave in and saved the rest of the day.
Putt-putt! Or as the girls were calling it that day, "Pit-pat!"
We had to let about 14 groups play through at different points along the course, so it gave us lots of time for fun photo shoots (which the girls were thrilled about, of course).
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Putt-putt places should have courses specifically designed for kids under five which have only about six holes and cost about 1/3 of the price. Why, you ask? Because this is what happens by the 17th hole when you have two 4 year olds...
Ice cream!
Just a little dinnertime girl talk...
... followed by manicures. Camping is rough.
This was the weekend's MVP... Most Valuable Potty.
Camping sure is fun when you're with your buddy.
(Notice Kadie has her BFF shirt on. Love it.)
