What a mess!

I had to post about this... Not everything is fun and games over here. This morning, Tess found her favorite crackers in the cupboard. She brought them out so she could have some and was so excited, she was furiously shaking the box up and down. Unfortunately, the box wasn't closed properly. By the time I got to her, she was in a very sad, motionless state, trying to balance the pile of crackers that were on top of the box. And the mean mom that I am, I made her wait even longer so I could get the camera. What a pathetic little face!! I'll tell you who wasn't sad though.... NORMAN! Jackpot!

T the Model meets the Model T

We all went to Greenfield Village today for family pictures. The photographer suggested we go there for a good backdrop for photos. When the picture posing was over, we had some fun walking around and we even rode a Model T.

Below is a video where you'll find Tess thoroughly enjoying her first Model T experience.

In case you had trouble seeing her, here is a better view:

So long for this year...

Tonight, we went to our last Tiger game for the year. They sure made it hard to love them this year. What. Ever. That is all we can say.

Stay tuned until April 10, 2009... Opening Day 2009! Whoo hoo! (We are going to begin petitioning the diocese right now to ensure we get a Lenten pardon for April 10th, as yes, it's Good Friday, and yes, we prefer to enjoy our meaty hamburgers and hot dogs at the tailgate party and ballgame.)

Ok! Back to the main event herself:
Tess had another blast at thet ballgame. The Tigers even decided to win for once. (Like it matters.) Tess didn't care though as she had lots of carousel riding to do. Much more important than a lousy game. (As you can tell, I am a very bitter Tiger fan. Rest assured, I am in very good company. ) Only one night left and we had lots of free ride tickets to use up! And so did the rest of southeastern Michigan as everyone and their brother was in line with us.

So much fun! Can't wait until next year. (Where hopefully, we'll still be playing in October.)

Go Tigers!

WHOOO HOOOO!

Hold on!

Tess' sign dictionary

We are beginning a little video dictionary of Tess' signs as I am afraid that the more she begins to speak, the more she'll drop her signs one by one. They are so cute (and effective!). Right now, we are having difficulty getting her to cooperate with this video dictionary concept (many times, Tess + camera = no signing and lots of dirty looks), so we'll add more as we are able to get them.

"No I will NOT smile and you can't make me!"

Grandma Geraldine and I took Tess to Babies R Us tonight for a little shopping trip. While we were walking by the Kiddie Kandids photography area, one of the workers asked if we would like a free 5x7 since Tess looked so cute. Free?! Who am I to turn down a free picture of my smiling little angel?! Of course! I gave Tess the quick one over, washed her face with a little saliva on my thumb, and off she went. And what lovely results we got!

The photographer tried for about 15 minutes.
Not. one. smile.
So much for the free pic of Miss. I Am Going To Do What I Want When I Wanna.

Better luck next time.

Sing-a-long time

We are bursting with new videos of Tess over here. Below is further evidence of how much Tess loves the Feist segment on Sesame Street. Also, she inadvertently pays homage to Maggie Simpson as she loudly guzzles what quickly becomes her empty milk bottle. It's questionable whether at the end, Tess is more disappointed that the song is over or that her milk is gone.

Enjoy!

Labor Day BFF party!

Tess' very special BFF Kadie came over for a visit today! Now that the BFF's are getting bigger and more sophisticated, so are their playdates. Loooong gone are the days of just staring at each other and hanging out in carseats.

As you will see below, they enjoyed a fun day of playing together, having some dinner at a special BFF picnic table, watching their favorite boyfriend Elmo and even giving each other a few smooches. What a fun day! They look forward to many more BFF fun days to follow.

PSA to the BFFs: Get used to having your picture taken while you eat, girls. You will be forced to deal with this unfortunate phenomenon for the rest of your lives. Lucky for you Kadie, you were spared the embarassment of having your picture taken while stuffing your mouth. Better luck next time, Tess. Don't worry though, it's happened to the best of us.
"How's your dinner, Tess?"

DO NOT DISTURB: WATCHING ELMO

Bravo!!!! Now play it again..... NOW!

Gimme a smooch!

Here is a video of Kadie and Tess watching a short Elmo video. You'll see that headed-to-Harvard-by-age-three brainiac Kadie is singing her ABCs right along with Elmo. Not to be outdone, Tess persistently signs "more" (yes, she is bilingual, you know) when it's over. Both agree that it was a spectacular show. Too cute.

P.S. Hopefully, you weren't too distracted by the paparazzi's flash photography during the video. Obviously, the BFFs are accustomed to such celeb attention as they hardly seemed to notice.
