Mackinac Island 2012

Keeping with past tradition, we celebrated Uncle Michael's birthday on Mackinac Island again this year.  We had a great time, as usual!  We mixed it up a bit this year and went a different weekend, so we missed the Lilac Festival Race, but instead caught the Lilac Festival Parade.  We also visited the Butterfly House this time, which the girls loved.

Ballerina girl

Tess had her ballet recital a few weeks ago. She did great!

These pictures are from the dress rehearsal since no pictures were allowed during the real show.

And as an added bonus, the finale of the show was the Daddy Daughter Dance.  Yes, you read that correctly.  And no, the picture below wasn't photoshopped.  And yes, I have enough blackmail material for a lifetime!

Tess had a large posse that came out to cheer her on!

Milwaukeeial Day Weekend

This year, we celebrated the beginning of summer (aka Memorial Day Weekend) with Uncle Mark in Milwaukee.  We got to visit where Uncle Mark lives and see his kitties and even go eat breakfast at his restaurant.  We also paid a visit to one of Dad's college buddies.
