Running the bases!

Tess was a lucky girl yesterday!  Papa and Meena took her to the afternoon Tigers game and they had special tickets to run the bases.  Lucky for me, there was an extra ticket.  AS IF I was going to miss that.

Tess had fun at the game... she managed to squeeze in her usual routine of a couple of carousel rides, cookies-in-a-cup, batting practice and even took a nap somewhere around the 8th, 9th or 10th innings.  Seriously.  The game went 12 INNINGS.  It was painful.  And the Tigers lost.  But at least we had a special treat at the end!

Finally!  On our way down to the field.

So cool!

Happy Birthday, Papa Art!

Papa Art and Grandma came to visit this weekend.  The fun began with swimming lessons on Saturday morning where Tess and Nora got to show off their stuff, followed by some Dream Cruise festivities on Saturday afternoon (more fun than I can even begin to explain) and ended with Papa Art's birthday on Sunday!  We celebrated his birthday by taking a trip to Greenfield Village.  We rode a Model T, the horse-drawn carriage, and of course, the carousel.  And to end the weekend, Tess made Papa Art a birthday cake.

Nora says lets get this party started

Told ya.

Kitty!  The joy of being first in line.

Little Miss. Nora isn't quite so picky.  At least not yet.
This is her first carousel experience.

She was demanding a refund.

Breaking news: Royal Oak soccer star announces her (probably temporary) retirement

On Wednesday, Tess finished her latest session of soccer.  It will likely be her last for a while.  We're off to try some other things, namely dance class!  I am pretty sure who is most excited about dance... me!  But soccer was fun while it lasted.

Tess definitely improved over time, although never really got it.  (She obviously gets her soccer skillz from her Uncle Mike!)  Either way, she made major strides in that she was finally able to do it without Dad.  And without her baby.  And without crying.  (Ok, so we didn't completely master the last one.  You'll see below...)

Now for the obligatory pizza stop after soccer

Followed by ice cream
(yes, that's right... cupcakes AND ice cream... we learned that in Super Parenting 101)

This video pretty much sums up Tess' soccer experience.
One step forward, one step back.

here is little Miss. Miss Fragile Soccer Star in action...
