We had a great time! With Snowmageddon 2011, we (really it was just me) were pretty nervous that we weren't even going to make it out of town. Luckily, we flew out the day after the storm and got out just fine.
As you can see Tess, was super stressed out about it.
Nora too.
We began our adventure by spending a day at the Magic Kingdom, followed by a week on the Disney Cruise! (More to come on that in the next post.) For now, we'll focus on our brief visit to the World. (We have to break it up somehow. Do you think I can consolidate all 1500 pictures in one post?!)
The day started out pretty cold and dreary. I was cursing those Florida weather people the entire way to the park as it was gray, freezing and drizzling. It was forecasted to be something like 82°. It was more like 60°. I know those of you that were back home in Snowmageddon have no sympathy, but throw us a bone here.
And yes, we were the most unprepared family there. Of course we only had about 7 suitcases back at the hotel FILLED with clothes for every occasion and every temperature.
But did we bring any of it with us to the park? No.
Were we all in shorts and tank tops? Pretty much.
And was everyone around us practically wearing a winter coat? Yes again. (I kid you not, I saw a handful of women wearing Ugg boots. What??)
So you have your Mom of the Year right here. What did we do, you ask? We marched right into the park and spent $65 on two Minnie Mouse fleece jackets, that's what. Made me feel better anyway and the two munchkins were a lot warmer (not to mention cute). Fast forward to about 1:30 pm when it was sunny and 427°... and the new jackets were shoved in the bottom of the stroller. At that point, Dad was especially excited about the new fleece jackets.
Freezing girls...
Much better.
Tess wouldn't go anywhere near the White Rabbit. So guess what baby sister was subjected to the horror instead?
See what I mean?
The carousel was much more fun.
Nora is doing her best Michael Jordan impression here.
Originally, I planned on doing a funny post about Tess and the characters as we never thought she'd actually go near them given her past track record. It was going to be something like this:
Here is Tess with Belle!
And here she is with Pinocchio!
Except she totally screwed up my plan when she went ahead and did this:
With Sleeping Beauty
And Cinderella
Someone else was pretty smitten with Cinderella too...
I am pretty sure that Nora would have just left us all behind and gone home with Cinderella right then and there had Cinderella just said the words.
You can tell that Tess was feeling like a third wheel at this point.
With Belle
With the King & Queen of the World
Then we got to the treats.
First, there was the cotton candy.
As you can see, Nora didn't like it at all.
Popcorn next.
Somehow we missed pictures of the ice cream... oh, I remember why. Because the photographer finally got a break to get some too!
Next came the rides.
First was the magic carpet Aladdin ride.
Then the tea cups, of course!
Followed by Dumbo with Dad.
Next up was the Tomorrowland tram.
And the train that goes around the World.
Last but not least was It's a Small World, officially Tess' most favorite attraction. We went back later in the day to ride it again, but fortunately unfortunately it was closed for repairs. The first time around, Nora decided it was the perfect place for a nap. The song on repeat obviously hypnotized her.
Either that, or she figured that a nap was the only way to escape the madness that is It's a Small World. Can't say that I completely disagree.
Princess Nora

It was such a fun day!
Stay tuned for The Big Trip: Part II, Our Cruise with the Mouse!
